According to the information obtained by Kurdish media IS has lately been focusing on Baghdad-Kirkuk routes to send its undercover militants into the cities.

A source for the Kurdish Peshmerga Forces revealed that the terrorist group has recruited female prostitutes for its plan to sneak into Kirkuk and surrounding areas, where the Peshmerga is in control.

The head of Kirkuk Security Directorate Halo Najat said that they have received reports confirming that IS spies and sleeper cells are attempting to find their way into Kirkuk. “They mostly send women to enter the city through the Baghdad-Kirkuk routes and conduct their plans against the Kurdish forces,” Najat said.

“Checkpoints on the Kirkuk entrance roads have been tightened.. suspicious people, including women, will be asked to show ID cards and they go through security procedures,” the Kurdish official explained.
